Always delicious Mediterranean food prepared in the best quality and perfect way! From the complimentary bread collection to the pickled vegetables , to the combination platters and dessert all were delicious and outstanding ! Kanafe dessert made upon request (need 15-20 minutes to be served ) Recommend!
My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day and had a lovely experience. When we arrived, every table was filled. There was lively music and a healthy buzz from the other guests. We sat in the middle of the room. Tables were close but not too close and the restaurant felt comfortable. Our servers were kind and efficient. No complaints here! We had a few dishes and everything tasted great! We had the veal shank special, kofta and fatoush salad. We have since ordered from here and will definitely be back.

We came here a couple Weeks ago and had the most amazing babaganoush, lentil soup, harissa dessert and kibbe pie. Sooooo zacki!
I went here on a Saturday night with family. We did have an early reservation but it never was fully packed while we were there. There's a decent beer menu with full bar. We had the hummus for an appetizer which had multiple different spreads and pita. I had the Kibbie for the main course and a salad. The portions were just right and everything was delicious and well seasoned. There's a menu of daily specials and the general menu. Lots of vegetarian options. The staff were very attentive to our needs throughout the meal. The restaurant has a great and friendly atmosphere.
I have visited this restaurant more than once and am happy to say that this place has some of the best Palestinian food I've ever had. The staff was friendly and had us seated almost immediately even though we did not have reservations. It is a great place to celebrate birthdays and have meals with family. All the foods that we got to eat were delicious and well seasoned. The favorite of the table was the lamb chops which were so soft and flavorful. We also ordered the grilled combo, baba, hummus, meat grape leaves, and the sayadiyya. They also have menus that change seasonal which are delicious. I would definitely go back and try other items on their menu. We also ordered some of their desserts such as the baklawa, harissa, and knafeh. Not only was the food delicious but the drinks as well. They paired well with the food.
I've been reading about Tanoreen for sometime now-- not to mention passing by whenever going to my hair salon in BayRidge/3rd Avenue. Tanoreen has been cited in articles as a must visit; it's been on my go to list for a while. Although the menu outlined some great selections from hot and cold appetizers to mains and seafood selections, my order was simple. The dish, labeled as Shrimp from the Seafood category was the order. No appetizers this first time around. Described as Shrimp prepared with lemon and garlic and served with rice, it seemed simple. However it was packed with so much flavor. Delivery was prompt and entrees were carefully packed. The serving included six shrimp laying on top an abundance of rice. There is something about Middle Eastern rice that is unbeatable. It's prepared with a fine vermicelli. This was no exception. The shrimp and rice were delicious--like a marriage made in heaven. My only observation is as follows: the shrimp and rice didn't run evenly. There was too much rice leftover for me. Rice lovers might disagree. I do enjoy rice but I would have preferred a side salad combined with far less rice. A thinking out loud suggestion. Overall, Tanoreen is an excellent restaurant and I want my next visit to be a dine in experience and i want to try more selections. I have my eye on the Haloumi appetizer. Mmmmm. Tanoreen----One to try.
Make a reservation for this Middle Eastern restaurant tucked into an unassuming Bay Ridge corner and run by Chef/owner Rawia Bishara and her daughter. The hype is real. You won't be disappointed. Dinner starts with a warm welcome into the cozy space followed by a complimentary plate filled with delicious, pickled vegetables and a basket of za'atar-dusted flatbread and homemade warm pita. The dishes that followed filled the table with plates full of unique flavors and colors. The falafel was so crispy and delicious. Served with tahini, lettuce and tomatoes, it was perfectly paired with the warm pita. The best way to start a family dinner. The whole baked fish was amazing. Sea bass wrapped in grape leaves, seasoned with Tanoreen spices and baked in the oven. Served with a heaping side of rice or salad, it was delicious. Get an entree or a side of Sayadiya, the fisherman's meal. This was one of the highlights of our evening. Rice sauteed with shredded chunks of red snapper, caramelized onions, almonds and spices served with a filet of red snapper. Would definitely come back for this one. The Lamb Baked Eggplant reminded me a bit of Greek Moussaka. Layers of melt in your mouth delicious eggplant with tomatoes, potatoes, ground lamb, spices and topped with almonds. Each bite was so delectable. Can't decide what vegetarian sides to get? The vegetarian combo is perfect to sample many tasty treats. Shulbato, lentil pilaf, veggie grape leaves, tomato salad and dandelion salad. Love the Arabic tomato salad is actually a bright red tomato and cucumber salad with onions, mint and lemon-olive oil. The grape leaves are filled with rice, parsley, onions and tomatoes. Come hungry or with a large group of family or friends. The meals are very generous. You'll leave very satisfied and ready to make a reservation to come again.
I went to Tanoreen with a group of friends who were fasting for Ramadan (8 of us in total). We made reservations for our table and were seated on time. When we were seated they provided us with dates and apricot juice to break our fast and said that they would bring out our appetizers once it's time to break fast. I appreciated their thoughtfulness and service! We ordered a few appetizers - labneh, hummus & meat grape leaves which I highly recommend you try as well. The hummus is quite creamy. But it goes well with the complimentary pita bread they bring when you are seated. The entrees were good as well my friends and I agreed but it wasn't exceptional- I think I expected some more flavor in some of the entrees. Most of the entrees come with rice and salad. They also had a specials menu for some appetizers and entrees. Our dessert included kunefe which was so delicious. It wasn't too sweet and it was nice and cheesy! Highly recommend. I will say I think my two favorite things about this restaurant are the service and the ambiance. It's a nice vibe inside and the service was exceptional! There was always someone filling up your water, cleaning up the table for dessert, picking up empty plates and they check in on you throughout. *There's a 3.75% CC charge fee and 20% gratuity was automatically added for our table of 8*
As a Palestinian American, I was very excited to try this place out. The decor is beautiful. The music is familiar. And service was professional. Food is on the pricier side but portions were pretty big and felt like I got my moneys worth. I'll start with the complimentary bread and pickled veggies. Very nice start to the meal. The pita bread was nice and soft. The Zataar bread was crispy and hot. The pickled veggies was fresh and crunchy. If they threw an olive or two in that veggie mix it would have been a whole appetizer. They had a special stuffed peppers with harissa, walnut, and pomegranate with a side of spicy purple cabbage. This dish was nothing like I've ever had before and that may or may not be a good thing. It isn't bad by any means and It was very unique but it didn't feel like I was eating a Palestinian or middle eastern dish. To be honest, the best thing on the dish was the spicy purple cabbage. Give me a plate if that and I'll be good. If you like spicy pickles then this may be for you. Just wasn't my thing. I also ordered the chicken freekeh soup. It was excellent. Tasted just like the soup from my childhood except they were pretty heavy with the garnish (parsley or coriander?) which gave it an extra punch of freshness. I quite liked it. Probably my favorite dish of the night. In general, this place seems to be heavy handed with the lemon, herbs, and spices. So just be prepared for a flavor bomb in your mouth when you come here. If you prefer subtle and simple flavors, this is not for you. Now the main was fish kibbie served with a side of Fatoosh salad. The salad was very lemony, and very earthy due to all the herbs. It was good but I wish they packed more pita chips into it. They are heavy handed with everything else why not pack it with crispy pita chips too. I had more than half my salad left by the time the pita chips were done. The fish kibbie was also very unique and different. I didn't taste any fish and it felt like I was eating a spinach krass (stuffed bread pie). The outer crust was good but the actual filling was straight spinach and onions which isn't was I was expecting when ordering a fish kibbeh. It was fresh and good but if I wanted molokhia I could have certainly ordered it off the menu. It just didn't feel like the meal I ordered and the meal I received were the same thing. Just to recap, this place is definitely very unique, fresh and flavorful. I would suggest coming with friends and ordering several things. If you are looking for mama's home cooking, you may not find it here outside of the freekeh soup. This is an elevated Palestinian place so be prepared to try your favorite Palestinian dishes with a twist. Worth a try.
